About UsLa Calypso is Vancouver's only France Pre-K.
The children learn in French, with a music lesson in English one time per week. We teach the France curriculum, as school starts at the age of 3 in France, and we prepare the students for the BC curriculum which starts at the age of 5. Our History |
La Calypso is part of Cousteau, the French International School of Vancouver. A very unique independent, secular school in British Columbia offering two curriculum - France curriculum and BC curriculum - as the school is accredited by the Ministry of Education of France and by the British Columbia Ministry of Education. Cousteau is part of a network of over 500 French International schools spread throughout 130 countries. In response to the interests expressed by several families living in Vancouver, Cousteau School decided to open a Pre-K in South Granville in 2014.
Our Pre-K bears the name La Calypso, the ship used by the French explorer and oceanographer Jacques-Yves Cousteau, who was greatly involved in conservationism. A source of inspiration as Cousteau is accredited Eco-School by the Foundation for Environmental Education. |
